AMERICAN IDOL – ABC’s “American Idol” judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan with host Ryan Seacrest. (ABC/Eric Liebowitz)
Gabbii Jones came out for her American Idol audition and put her own spin on Ariana Grande’s “Dangerous Woman” in front of Judges Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan and Katy Perry. Jones is from St. Louis and was previously seen on The Voice. After Jones belted Grande’s “Dangerous Woman,” Perry and Bryan both exclaimed “Wow!” she recalls. Richie called her a rock star.
Right before Gabbii’s audition, her father Keith Jones gave Gabbii some fruit so she would not sing on an empty stomach — but Gabbii had an allergic reaction to the pineapple. While her tongue was itching her father told her “You’re here now — you gotta sing. I can’t do anything for you.”
